2024-25 Mini Grant Requests

Mini Grant Application 2024-2025

*******

The goal of the FES PTA is to fund innovative and creative ideas which support and enhance the learning experience, enhance teaching at our school and positively affect our students, faculty and staff.  The FES PTA generally supports programs that reach the largest number of students.

All qualified Mini-Grant proposals that have been approved by the Principal will be considered.

The following allotments have been budgeted for this year.

  • $1,200 for each of Grades K-5
  • $500 each for art, music, maker space, gym *

*(Specialist mini-grants must benefit all classes within one specific grade or across the whole school)

The guidelines for the Mini-Grant Program are as follows:

  • Proposals must be submitted to the PTA Executive Board by the Principal no later than April 1, 2025.  No exceptions will be made.
  • Reimbursements for mini grant proposal expenses must be submitted no later than May 31, 2025.
  • We encourage you to consider creative ways in which the PTA can support you in the classroom or by grade level through funding activities and tools needs to enhance the school’s program of study. Note: The PTA will no longer fund subscriptions to Scholastic and Time.
  • Mini-grant funds may not be applied towards transportation costs or professional development.
  • Each proposal is reviewed on its own merit. The PTA reserves the right to provide full, partial or no funding for each application.
  • Grant proposals may contain multiple items which support a single project. Each item must be listed separately with associated costs shown.
  • Wherever possible try to purchase locally to avoid shipping charges. Note: The PTA will not pay for “RUSH SHIPPING”.
  • All electronic equipment purchases must be approved by the Technology Department of the BOE before submitting an application to the PTA.
  • In order to help the Executive Board make solid decisions on which programs to fund, please email any available supporting documentation to ncaron@ridgefieldps.netkatiefogs9@gmail.com & anniedosdall@gmail.com. The anticipated impact on curriculum section of the application must be completed.

Examples of information to include are:

o How the proposal will enhance the educational plan

o How the information will be shared with other teachers, students, and/or parents

o Which grade level(s) will be affected

  • The decision of the Executive Board is final. Approved funds for mini grants may not be used for any other purpose. Applicants will be notified directly by the Principal upon acceptance or rejection.
  • Purchases may NOT be made prior to approval. Approved mini-grants may be paid for out-of-pocket and be reimbursed by filling out a PTA reimbursement form on the PTA website, and emailing our FES Treasurer Beth Polo, bethayleen@gmail.com, your receipts or by submitting an invoice for the PTA to pay the company directly.

Please direct any questions or concerns to Katie Higgins (katiefogs9@gmail.com) and Annie Dosdall (anniedosdall@gmail.com) PTA Co-Presidents. Thank you for all you do for FES and all of our children!
